Top 10 Quarterback’s I’ve Ever Seen

Driving home yesterday I was listening to The Mad Dog on my Sirius radio and they were debating the top 10 greatest QB’s of all time. A lot of great points were made but some of those guys I had never seen play because Im not a 82-year old man, Im 34. So I thought about listing the top 10 quarterbacks I have ever seen play.

Before I start with number 10 I wanted to give myself a shameless plug. Dont forget that former lingerie football player the super sexy Danielle Moinet will be guest blogging her NFL picks every week during the season. Read the press release [RIGHT HERE]

Now to the count down.

#10 Randell Cunningham AKA “The Ultimate Weapon” as labeled by Sports Illustrated.
For those who dont know about Cunningham, to me, he was the Mike Vick of his era. In 1990 he rushed for 942 yards! As a quarter back! He played 16 seasons and in his 12 season he rejuvenated his career and threw for a career high 34 TD’s with the Vikings.

#9 Donovan McNabb
The knock on McNabb was that he couldnt win big games. Which in some parts is true. But find me another quarterback during his era that went to 5 straight NFC championship games? Or AFC for that matter. He did play in the Super Bowl and lost a great close game to the Patriots.

#8 Kurt Warner
Warner was a flat our slinger. He was the QB for the team they called “The Greatest Show On Turf” winning 2 Super Bowls in 3 years with the Rams and he was the MVP of both those games. He then led the Cardinals the big game but he came up just short. And that season it seems like he threw for a million and five yards.

#7 Warren Moon
Moon totaled just under 50,000 yards in his NFL career and thats good for fifth all-time. Plus he was the first Black QB to be named to the Hall of Fame. Although he never got to the Super Bowl he was still one of the most dangerous QB’s to play the game.

#6 Dan Marino
Dan Marino never played any really, really good teams when I watched him play. But he was one of those QB’s that you had to make sure he didnt beat you by himself. If Marino ever had a running game and a defense he would have gone deeper in the playoffs just about every year and who knows what would have happened. He threw 420 touch down passes which is second all time. Won the MVP in his second season when he threw for 48 TD’s.

#5 Peyton Manning
When its all said and done, a lot of people are going to say that Peyton was the greatest quarterback to ever play. He is in my opinion the smartest quarterback to ever play. Unfortunately for him his Colts teams never featured a defense that can stop anyone. Although he did win a Super Bowl the next 4 guys were like Frosted Flakes, Grrrreat!

#4 John Elway
Do I have to say anything other than “The Drive”? Through out his whole career he was the guy you didnt want to play against when the game was on the line because he was gonna beat you. Played in 5 Super Bowls, winning 2 of them.

The Drive

#3 Brett Favre
Three MVP’s, 11 Pro Bowls, 5 NFC Player of the Year, 2 Super Bowls, 2 comebacks and 1 small cell phone picture that ruined his legacy.

#2 Joe Montana
Remember that this list is of the greatest QB’s that I, me personally have ever seen. I seriously debated putting Montana as #1 on this list. Growing up as a kid I wanted to play quarterback just so I can say that I was Joe Montana. Yes the teams he was on were great, but it was Joe that made them great. Joe had ice in his veins. In the Super Bowl verse the Bengals he drove 97 yards and threw a touch down to win. That was the only Super Bowl he played in that didnt result in a 49er’s blow out.

#1 Tom Brady
Heres a guy who has Hollywood looks, yet the eyes of a killer. He has long hair and an endorsement deal with Uggs yet he plays football. He dont care and you know why? Because he’s Tom fucking Brady. He knocks up an actress, dumps her for a super model, you know why? Because he’s Tom fucking Brady. In 2007 he threw 50 TD’s to only 8 interceptions. Fifty to eight! In the post season he’s sporting a 14 and 5 record. Heres what he’s done in his career:

2001 NFL Super Bowl MVP
2003 NFL Super Bowl MVP
2007 NFL AP MVP
2007 NFL PFWA MVP
2007 NFL Newspaper Ent. Assoc. MVP
2007 NFL Bert Bell Award (Player of the Year)
2007 NFL AP Offensive Player of the Year
2009 NFL AP Comeback Player of the Year
2010 NFL AP MVP
2010 NFL PFWA MVP
2010 NFL AP Offensive Player of the Year

You know why? Because he’s Tom fucking Brady.
