We would like to thank Jack Curry for taking the time to answer a couple of quick questions from Bronx Goblin and our fans. Jack Curry is a pre-game and post-game analyst and website columnist for the YES Network. We think Jack and the YES crew do an excellent job of engaging fans and we are excited for this opportunity.
Hi Jack, are you enjoying the weather down at spring training?
Jack Curry: The weather has been terrific since I arrived last week. It’s drizzling today, but I’m not complaining. It’s still about 75 degrees.
If Montero wins the backup job, do you think they’ll consider trading Cervelli?
Jack Curry: That’s a possibility, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Though the Yankees have a lot of catching prospects, Cervelli is major league ready and gives them insurance if Martin or Montero gets injured or struggles.
In the first couple of spring games, it is encouraging to see pitchers like Nova and Dellin Betances pitch well.
Jack Curry: I thought Nova had about as smooth a stint as a pitcher could have in his first outing. Betances just blew batters away. I like Betances a lot. He needs some more time in the minor leagues, but the Yankees believe he’s a legitimate number one starter-type. I agree with them.
